Saturday 11th May 2024 – The First Bathurst Gravel Hosted At Cirencester Park, UK
Set in the stunning Cirencester Park, the 2024 Bathurst Gravel gives you the only opportunity to ride your bike in these historic grounds. In what’s normally a bike-free zone, we’re giving you the chance to see the sights by bike. Whether you’re a family with young riders, someone wanting to take up cycling for fitness / leisure or a season rider – our day in Cirencester Park is for you.
Utilising a 12km traffic free, mainly gravel route – riders of all ages can complete as many laps as they like during the course of the day.
Why not set yourself a challenge and raise money for your favourite charity (or one of our local partner charities) and make it an even more special day out.
And to add in an extra twist, we’ve teamed up with the guys & girls in our twinned city of Bathurst NSW (Australia) who will be running their event on the same day – albeit a few hours ahead of us!! https://bathurstrotarygravel.org.au
So, who can raise the most money for charity??
Who can cover the most kilometre’s in a day??
Lets not lose out in another sporting event to our “friends” Down Under!!
As this is the first year of the event (and we’ve got plans for future growth) – we’re limiting ticket sales to just 500 riders, so don’t hang about.
Tickets now available and at just £12.50 per person (or £25.00 for a family) it's a great value day out. Book your tickets now to avoid disappointment
The Bathurst Gravel Cycling Event is very much gravel and family fun.
There will be an event village to make a day of the event.
Nestled within the Bathurst Estate (Cirencester Park).
Expect country views and a pleasant adventure!
Andy Kirk
Have fun raising money for your charity by completing as many laps of the 12km gravel course as you can!
Views at every turn throughout the Bathurst Estate.

The event takes place on a mainly gravel, 12km (ish) course based entirely in the Bathurst Estate. It includes a mix of gravel tracks, hardpack paths and single track - with a very short section of tarmac (to get you up the courses only real climb).
The event village will open at 9am on the day of the day of the event, with the ride due to start from 10am (you can start whenever you like after 10am).
The ride will finish at 4pm, with the site closing at 5pm.
Event insurance (to cover you for illness / injury) is available during the registration process, for our full cancellation policy, please visit www.veloevents.co.uk/faqs
We welcome all types – MTB, Road (wider tyres), Gravel, CX, e-bike, Fixie, Unicycle . . . . whatever you choose to ride. e-bikes are to be British standards compliant. That means not chipped, they must be assited power and limited to 250watts and 15.5mph max speed.
We want to see everyone out riding a bike and enjoying the stunning Cirencester Park - so with the support of our partners, Discover Bikes will be on hand with a fleet of hire bikes (including ebikes) which you can use to experience the fun and freedom of being out on two wheels with your family.
Although there will be mechanical assistant at the event village, it'll be a long walk back from the far end of the course if you get a puncture!! So make sure you come equipped for a ride - as you would if you were out on your own, such as sunscreen, spare tubes (not just one!), tools, warm clothes, waterproof jacket, (riding if it’s raining is surprisingly fun), water, snacks. Remember a HELMET IS A MUST! No helmet no ride - this none negotiable and applies to all riders.
There will be plenty of toilets available in the event village where the course starts / finishes, but there won't be additional toilets out on the course.
There will be medical support should you need it out on the course and marshals at various points (who will be in contact with the event control) should you need them.
Pre-event support will be provided by the team at Discover Bikes, with the support of Shimano UK. They'll be on-hand to help sort out any minor niggles with your bike and to make sure it's safe to ride - but don't come along expecting them to do a full service for free, they need to be able to give time to everyone.
There will be plenty of free parking at Cirencester College with easy access to the event village via Cirencester Deer Park School.
